China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China National Heavy Duty Truck"), formerly known as Jinan Automobile Manufacturing Plant, was founded in 1930 and is the cradle of China's heavy duty truck industry. In 1960, China's first heavy-duty vehicle, the Huanghe JN150 eight-ton truck, was manufactured, ending the history of China's inability to produce heavy-duty vehicles. On May 4 of that year, Chairman Mao Zedong inspected Jinan, visited the prototype car and spoke highly of it. On January 11, 1966, Chairman Zhu De personally inscribed the word "Yellow River" for him. In the early days of socialist construction, the "Yellow River" car was well-known throughout the country, made significant contributions to the development of the national economy and national defense, and became one of the landmark achievements of the Chinese nation's self-reliance and hard struggle. In 1983, under the personal care of Comrade Deng Xiaoping, the Austrian Steyr heavy-duty truck project was successfully introduced, and it was the first enterprise in China to comprehensively introduce foreign heavy-duty vehicle manufacturing technology. "Steyr" once became synonymous with heavy trucks in our country.

       In 2007, it successfully achieved a red-chip listing on the main board in Hong Kong, which was the first red-chip stock listed in China's manufacturing industry, and initially built a platform for international development. In 2004, the self-developed new generation of heavy truck model Howo brand was born, and was introduced to the market in 2005, achieving the achievement of producing and selling more than 10,000 vehicles that year, creating a new record in the history of China's heavy trucks at that time. In 2013, SITRAK series products with independent intellectual property rights were officially launched to the market, leading the development of the domestic heavy-duty vehicle industry. In 2020, a new generation of high-end national brand "Yellow River" heavy trucks will be launched to the world, leading China's heavy trucks to become world-class.

The products are exported to more than 110 countries and regions, accounting for half of China's heavy truck exports.

In 2023, Sinotruk's operating performance will lead the industry strongly. The annual operating income was 173.1 billion yuan, the industrial added value was 19.1 billion yuan, and the vehicle sales volume was 335,000 units, of which 130,000 heavy trucks were exported, making it the enterprise with the highest market share and the highest export share of heavy trucks. In 2023, China National Heavy Duty Truck (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. ranked 385th in the "Top 500 Chinese Enterprises", 197th in the "Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises", and 80th in the "Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in China".
